South Carolina (55-14) posted its second straight win and second straight title on Tuesday by beating Florida (53-18), 5-2. The Gamecocks went undefeated in NCAA tournament play and broke a record with 16 straight postseason wins.
Second baseman Scott Wingo drove in two runs and had six assists in the field to lead USC. Wingo also garnered CWS Most Outstanding Player honors for his efforts.
